Which pages of mine are closest to a first-page ranking?

The ones already sitting between positions 5 and 20 on queries people search often and click rarely. Those are the shortest distance between where you are and traffic, and GEO MarketMap reads them straight out of your own Search Console rather than estimating them from anybody's index.

Queries you already appear on and are barely clicked — the shortest distance between where you are and traffic. Read from your own Search Console, not estimated. Figures shown are an example of the shape, not a customer's numbers.

Why start with what already half-ranks?

Because the work is smaller and the evidence is already there. A query sitting at position 11 has proved the demand exists and proved your page is relevant enough to be considered; what is missing is usually one section, one figure, or an answer moved to the top.

The detail+

A page that ranks nowhere for a query nobody searches is the opposite of that on both counts. Starting there is how a quarter disappears with nothing to show.

The position to work from is the one your own data reports. According to Google Search Central, the position in Search Console is the average of the topmost position your site reached across every impression — so a query averaging 11 has been on the first page some of the time already.

02 / 03

Is this classic SEO or AI search?

Both, and separating them is a mistake this category keeps making. According to the Pew Research Center, which tracked 68,879 Google searches in March 2025, 18% already produced an AI summary — which means 82% did not, and the ranking under it still decides who gets the click.

The detail+

The same page usually has to do both jobs. What makes a page quotable by an assistant — answering in the opening, carrying real figures, naming its sources — is also what makes it worth ranking, so the two sets of work overlap more than they compete.

03 / 03

What about the queries I do not rank for at all?

Those come from the other direction: what your rivals rank for and you do not. That list is usually the shortest path to work worth doing, because somebody else has already proved the demand exists and already paid to find out.

The detail+

Each gap carries its monthly volume and how hard it looks, so the choice is yours rather than a ranked list you have to trust.

Also asked

Do I have to connect Google?
+
No, and it is free when you do. Without it we work from search demand data; with it we can see the queries you already appear for and how close each one is.
What counts as a quick win?
+
A query where you rank between 5 and 20, that gets shown a lot and clicked little. The demand and the relevance are both already proved.
Does fixing a page for search hurt it for assistants?
+
No. Answering in the opening, carrying concrete figures and naming sources help both, which is why the two are one workflow here rather than two products.
